Thammasat University (TU), the second oldest university in Thailand, was founded in 1934. It is one of Thailand’s leading institutes for the high quality of its teaching and research, with enrollment of over 16,000 undergraduates and 5,000 graduates each year.

Industrial Engineering (IE). The industrial engineering at TU is built upon a solid foundation in physical science, mathematics, engineering, humanities and social science. We offer a variety of opportunities in higher education. Our lecturers have experiences in field of safety engineering, industrial work improvement, human factors in engineering and ergonomics for over 20 years. The department’s main focuses are in Production Engineering and engineering management. TU-IE also actives in computer simulation, data science application and ergonomics. Our students have received various awards from the Simulation (ARENA) Student Contest.

TU-IE was one of the founder for Ergonomics Society of Thailand. We have contributed experiences and knowledge in human factors and ergonomics to Thai industry. Presently, we collaborate with ergonomics researchers and practitioners in Thailand to establish several Thai Industrial Standards (TIS) for ergonomics, MMH, Physical Fitness, VDTs, and Anthorpometry in the country and establish a master plan of over 20 ergonomic standards for Thai Industrial Standard Institute (TISI), Ministry of Industry from the year of 2016-2020. We are running a research related to child worker funding by Ministry of Labour and starting several projects with Thai Institute of Occupation Safety and Health (Public Organization) for promoting human well-being. In addition, we also are working closely with IEA (International Ergonomics Association) and SEANES (South East Asian Network of Ergonomics Society) for applying Ergonomics design to industrial sections.
