Recently, the 3rd meeting of MSIE4.0 project was held in Chiang Mai University. Early morning January 29, Tuesday Dr.Wichai (Chiang Mai University), Dr.Nicolae Ionesco (Politehnica University of Bucharest), Dr.Rui Lima and Dr.Diana Mesquita (University of Minho), Dr.Pisut Koomsap and Ms.Duangthida Ayutthaya(Asian Institute of Technology), and Dr.Anna Salek and Dr.Tomasz Nitkiewicz (Czestochowa University of Technology) presented what MSIE4.0 industry needs and Gap analysis. Other activities conducted in the afternoon such as Presentation on Curriculum Design & Development (CDD), Group Work on CDD I– PLOs and CDD I Wrap Up & Discussion.

The activities for the 2nd day was a Group Work on CDD II—MSIE 4.0 Courses followed by Group Work on CDD III—CLOs, T&Ls, Project Executive Commitee, Quality Control & Monitoring Board and Project Members Meeting.

January 31, the activity was Audition for Course Development. Each university partners presented their choice of course to add in their curriculum.

During September 10-15, 2018, the 2nd MSIE 4.0 meeting was hosted by University of Minho, Portugal. The first day activities were a warm welcome from the dean of engineering department and Prof. Rui Lima, brief of the meeting goals, project executive committee (PEC) meeting, and lab visits.

For the second day, the morning session was dedicated for parallel meetings of WP 1, 2, 3, 5, and QCMP. The afternoon session was for a general assembly where each WP leader updated the progress to all members. Besides, PC reported information for meeting report including 1.) project management flowchart, 2.) budget transfer flowchart, 3.) cost of travel and cost of stay information.

On the third day, all members had a chance to visit Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal in Braga (https://www.bosch.pt/). Bosch representatives provided a very warm welcome and delivered a speech on the company profile. In addition, there was the plant visit activity in order for all members to learn more about the advancement of technology being applied in production lines. On the afternoon, the members met with Uminho rectory officer and attended a special seminar entitled ‘Project-based learning in practice: experience sharing from medical school’.

On the remaining days, Prof. Rui M. Lima and Dr. Diana Mesquita conducted the training workshop on PBL (Problem-Based Learning) to all members at Department of Engineering, Uminho. The training covered PBL principles, design, assessment, and organization. The members practiced this PBL project in groups. They presented and discussed on their PBL proposals at the end of the training.
