MSIE 4.0 Public Seminars on Industry 4.0 and Engineering Education.

Departments of Industrial Engineering at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) and at Chiang Mai University (CMU) will host MSIE4.0 public seminars on Industry 4.0 and Engineering Education on this coming January 28 and 29 respectively at their departments. In these seminars, European and Thai researchers from the MSIE 4.0 Consortium will share their research interests related to the Erasmus+ Curriculum Development of Master’s Degree Program in Industrial Engineering for Thailand Sustainable Smart Industry.

Presentation topics cover Industry 4.0 in practice, innovation, evaluation, and sustainable issues in Industry 4.0, transversal competences for Industrial Engineering in Industry 4.0 context, competences according to European Qualifications Framework (EQF), and last but not least the present and future of learning experience in engineering education. The special topic for the seminar at KMUTNB is Project-Based Learning (PBL) models: the integrated development of competences and for the seminar at CMU is Gap Analysis for Curriculum Development of Master’s Degree Program in Industrial Engineering for Thailand Sustainable Smart Industry.

The two seminars are free and open to the public. Registration is not required but encouraged due to seating. For the seminar at KMUTNB, please contact Prof. Athakorn Kengpol (athakorn.kengpol@gmail.com). The seminar will begin at 9.00 am and finish at 12.00 pm.
For the seminar at CMU, please contact Dr. Wichai Chattinnawat (chattinw@gmail.com). The seminar will begin at 8.00 am and finish at and finish at 12.30 pm.

Presentation of MSIE 4.0 project at the ICAMaT 2018 Conference

On November 1st, 2018, the MSIE 4.0 project was presented by Prof. Tom Savu at the ICAMaT 2018 Conference, which was attended by academics from Romania (Bucharest, Iasi, Galati etc.), Poland, and Italy; PhD students from Romania and Tunisia and representatives of the car manufacturers, producers of plastic materials etc.

Presentation of MSIE 4.0 project to master students in UPB

On September 24, 2018, the MSIE 4.0 project was presented to the master students from four study programmes coordinated by the Manufacturing Engineering Department. The presentations were made by Assoc. Prof. Madalin Catana (member of the project team), Prof. Tom Savu (head of Manufacturing Engineering Department) and Prof. Cristian Doicin (dean of Engineering and Management of Technological Systems Faculty). The presentations triggered much interest from the students who asked several questions.
